Healthy Food Policy
Schools are now limited in what kinds of food and beverages can be sold to students. The exact standards for the new menu, including amount of fat, calories, or sugar, can be found at this website.
A policy has also been adopted by the District where school organizations are requested to stop fundraising with foods that fail to meet the requirements. Also, any reward systems involving unhealthy foods are also expected to end. However, there are some exceptions including two Clubs Days where any food is allowed. Also, sale of unhealthy foods are allowed before and after school with about thirty minutes to an hour separating from the start or end of school.
However, a new rule without exceptions has banned the preparation of foods, usually involving some method of cooking, at home. All foods used for fundraisers, even Clubs Days, are expected to be bought ready to sell from a store or prepared by a commercial restaurant.
Closed Campus
It is mandatory for all students to leave after their last class of the day. Students are not allowed to loiter in the halls or in the quad when sixth or seventh period is in session.
Announcements
If you wish to place an announcement to be read over the loudspeaker and made available online, you can fill out a form to have your news put in the Tino News Today. To do so requires one simple form that is available in the main office.
Tino News Today Form – usually a golden color, this form requires that you circle a category that the news falls under and a description of the event including date, time, location, etc., it is also necessary to list the dates that you would like the announcement read to be written next to the day in the format, “#/#,” the news needs a title and a signature from an advisor or staff member involved with your organization
Fundraisers
In order to organize a fundraiser for your fundraiser, it is necessary to fill out a form and have your fundraiser approved by ASB. Not only does ASB ensure that your fundraiser qualifies as a “proper” fundraiser, but it also keeps note of all fundraisers to make sure that none conflict with one another.
