I’m Karen Hou, one of your new ASB Historians. I’ll be working with Eartha Arandia and Nicholas Bell to manage this site as well as photos, videos, and all that cool tech-y stuff you see going on at rallies and such.

As many of you know, this year will be Cupertino’s 50th anniversary! That’s going to be our theme for this year, and there will be a lot of celebration going on. Stay tuned for updates!

Summer is (unfortunately) coming to an end, but there’s still so many things to do before school starts. Be sure to go to Pioneer Days to get everything done! Check the Major Events page or the CHS home page (chs.fuhsd.org) for more details.

Slowly but surely, we’ll make sure to get everything on the Tino ASB blog updated. In the meantime, please let us know if you have any comments, questions, or suggestions, anything you want to see, etc.

Hopefully everyone knows this week is International Week and that there will be activities held in the quad everyday during brunch and lunch so be sure to check it out. (For more information scroll down a couple posts :D)

I am sure everyone has heard of Kenya Dream, the amazing project the class of 2010 has taken on to raise up to $100,000 for the Nthimbiri Secondary School in rural Kenya. In order to accomplish this the class of 2010 has been working tirelessly to fundraise and have already raised a few thousand. This weekend Kenya Dream is hosting a Benefit Concert featuring the San Jose Youth Symphony.

You can tell us about an idea you might have for a friday funday, something you’d like to see at the next rally, a creative and effective way to publicize events, etc. We will read through your suggestions and pick the one we like the best. On another note, we greatly appreciate the comments and suggestions we have been receiving. In response to Catherine’s comment, we hope the ASB blog can function as an alternative to the posters, announcements and other publicity we use around school. We would really like every CHS student to have access to event information at all times which is why we want to promote the blog. Also a link to the TinoAsb Blog was posted on the CHS website at the beginning of the year, but we’re still trying to smooth out the kinks and publicize it better. But thank you very much for the  suggestion and let us know if there is any other effective way of getting the information out

Hmm last week was pretty intense with all four classes on the field vying for the spot of Powderpuff Champions! We want to congratulate all the classes for being so spirited and such good sports. We especially want to congratulate the Sophomore class of 2010 and the Senior class of 2008.

This was our first time doing Powderpuff in quite a few years, so please leave us some suggestions for improvements and comments on what went well, what didn’t, etc.

Don’t fret though, the fun isn’t over! Next week is International Week!

So a little update for this week:

Come out to the practice field at lunch every day this week for our first PowderPuff tournament. Tomorrow (wednesday) we have the Seniors versus the Sophomores and thursday we have the consolation game. Friday will be the championship game, so come out and support your class!!!

Also, Thursday night is opening night for the! Don’t miss this is amazing show. There will be shows on Friday of this week, and thursday, friday, and saturday of next week, so mark your calendars!

On another note, we have finally come to realize that only handful of you guys read this blog, so we want to reward you!

Check this blog every Monday for regular updates and a chance to win free stuff (namely starbucks and giftcards). More information will be provided soon.

Whether you’re single, dating, or “it’s complicated,” ASB has some events planned for you next Thursday, February 14, to get you in on the action!

We will have Speed Dating during brunch in the quad along with the chance to Win a Date with a Senior during lunch! Don’t forget to also grab the heart with your name on it off of the wall! Maybe you could even give it to that special someone?

How did you like stress free week? I know a lot of you were still stressed out but hopefully the games, the dance, and the entertainment helped a little. Honestly, we’ve never done anything like that before, so leave us a comment and tell us what you liked, what you didn’t like, what you’d want to see next year, etc.

On another note, two weeks until break!! And a couple of events planned for between now and then.

This Friday, we have our first ever HEALTHY Club’s day! but done let the “healthy” throw you off…there’s gonna be some prettty delicious selections in the quad this Friday. So be there!

Next Thursday is Valentine’s Day Choir will be giving their serenades and ASB will have hearts posted up all over the quad with every CHS student’s name on it. So come out that day and find your heart.

We hope you all got through your finals relatively unscathed. To recover from the traumatizing experience of testing, we have some great events planned.

First up, this Friday is School Colors Day, so represent Tino by wearing red and yellow! It will also be the Monta Vista IDC Exchange, so those of you who are going to be away, see you next week for our next big event!

Starting next week, and lasting the entire week, we will be having STRESS FREE WEEK! Look forward to many fun events, starting with Monday, where we will have MEGA iPod Wars during Brunch and the ULTIMATE TWISTER tournament during lunch! We hope to see you all out there!
